Любое изменение структуры хромосомы, хромосомная мутация; Х.п. может быть обусловлена потерями (делеция deletion, дефишиенси deficiency), удвоением участков (дупликация duplication) и изменением положения в хромосоме (инверсия inversion), а также перемещением в хромосоме или между хромосомами (транслокация translocation) участков хроматина.
